Nathan is our Director of Web Development and has been a part of the Arabian Nights family for about two years now. His hard work has paid off greatly for us with a brand new website that has recently become mobile-friendly, a video and photo gallery, as well as a spiffy new blog page – and that’s just to name a few of his accomplishments here!

Before joining the Arabian Nights family, Nathan worked freelance doing graphic and web design/development for clients that he still maintains to this day through his business, Digital Awakening Studios. Nathan is also a fine artist, generating complex and lyrical images full of movement and energy by using math and code. (Can’t visualize it? I couldn’t either so check it out! ) Let’s find out more about Nathan…

Time my day started today: Well, my cat Michael woke me up around 6am, so I locked him on the porch and went back to sleep. Then I woke up again around 7am; my wife Amy is a teacher so we get an early start during the week.

My “Breakfast of Champions”: I love food – making it, eating it, growing it, serving it, and learning about it. I often have two breakfasts. First breakfast: homemade cafe con leche and two slices of toast with butter. Second breakfast (LOTR, anyone?): plain yogurt mixed with locally made granola and honey, and berries when they’re in season. I know, what a hippie.

I got into work today around: 10:30am typically.

First thing I do when I get here: Sign in to various password protected websites and go through my list of web-related things that I monitor on a daily/weekly basis.

Highlights of my day: My second cup of coffee, working on a delightfully large iMac, seeing a positive spike in web traffic or e-commerce conversions, and chatting with Steve, our Facilities Director. (Just steer clear of that vortex Steve kept talking about Nathan!)

My day usually ends around: 6:00pm typically.

After work I usually: Usually some mix of relaxing, working outside on the yard, catching up on freelance jobs, and prepping dinner.

Favorite part of working at Arabian Nights: Expanding my web ninja skill set.

Signing of thoughts/comments: I would like to be a person who speaks the truth in love.

Whoa, that Nathan is a diverse guy! From being a serious webmaster and artist to growing his own food – is there anything he can’t do? Hope you enjoyed getting to know another member of the Arabian Nights family, stay tuned to for another inside scoop next week!

Day in the Life of… Nathan Selikoff

Author: arabiannightsfl | Filed under: Informational

Here at Arabian Nights we are constantly looking for ways to grow and improve as a company, and we believe with the addition of Ken Baer to our team we’ll be better able to do that.

Arabian Nights is pleased to announce the newest edition to our diligent and hard-working Executive Team, Ken Baer.

Ken comes to us from Traylor Chemical & Supply, Inc. where he was a Controller and Director of Human Resources for 3 years. Before working with Traylor, Ken was the CFO and Vice President of Human Resources for Seald Sweet LLC in Vero Beach for 5 years and with Dixon Ticonderoga Company in Heathrow, FL for 18 years as their Treasurer and VP of Human Resources. That’s just to name a few of the most recent positions Ken has held! As you can see, Ken is very well suited for his job with us.

Originally from New Jersey, Ken moved with his family down to North Miami, Florida at the young age of six. He later attended Miami-Dade Junior College and then continued his education at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, where he received his Bachelors in Accounting. Ken now lives locally with his wife Kim and their two adopted daughters, Lyla and Layne. Ken’s two older sons are also nearby making for frequent family visits. Other than time with his family, Ken also enjoys working with computers, fishing, and boating.

On working with us Ken says “I am thrilled to be a part of the Arabian Nights team and look forward to a prosperous future for and with the company.” We agree Ken – welcome aboard!
