“Day in the Life of… Stephen Zink”
Author: arabiannightsfl | Filed under: Backstage PassSteve has been a valued member of the Arabian Nights family for the past six years as the Facilities Director.
Steve has handled the task of making sure this enormous facility is in tip-top shape everyday with such ease, probably greatly helped by his good sense of humor. That humor came into play when being interviewed for this blog and was asked why he left being a pilot for Continental Connection and came to work here. Steve responded, “I was looking for a cool part-time job and was sucked into the Arabian Nights vortex.” Ha-ha Steve, we don’t believe you one bit…..
I woke up this morning around: 8:00 a.m.
My Breakfast of Champions: Atkins Shake
Time I usually get into work: 10:00 a.m. if I’m lucky and no one called me with an emergency.
First thing I do when I get here: Check all mechanical components and determine projects for the week. Basically I make sure the building is in working order first thing every morning.
Highlights of my day: Asking Audrey for more money to spend on the facility. I also enjoy getting to fix things, building computers, repairing telephones, having an uneventful day, visiting with the horses, talking computers with our web designer Nathan, and saving money on projects! (Whew that’s a lot you love about this ‘vortex’ Steve!)
My day usually ends at: 6:00pm on a good day
What I do after I leave work: Go bicycling and relax at home.
My favorite part of working here: Making progress.
Signing off thoughts/comments: “Beam me up, Scotty”
