This is the beginning of a new series of blogs to give our readers insight into what it’s like to work for Arabian Nights – from performers to our corporate employees, we thought it would be fun to give you an insider’s look at our day-to-day activities.

First up is our Barn Manager and Performer, Csaba Szilagyi. Csaba is a familiar face to those who have been to the show; he is an incredibly skilled acrobat. He found out about a job opening here at Arabian Nights from friends and wanted to take on the challenge of working with horses. That was 8 years ago….

Woke up today at: 7:00am

My regular “Breakfast of Champions”: Chocolate Milk and a Banana

Got into work today around: 11:30am

First task of the day: Writing up practices for the horses/riders for the day

Time I started getting ready for the show: Around 5:00pm

Getting ‘show ready’ for me entails: Getting my costumes together and checking that all the pieces are there; warming up with some handstands; and presetting the ‘Gypsy Act’ props.

My feelings before the show: I feel awake from warming up, ready for the show to start!

The highlight of the night’s performance for me: The nice, comfortable fire hoop and a good chariot race.

Right after the show I: Go home, take a shower, have a cup of orange juice, take the dogs out, and watch some TV.

My favorite part of working for Arabian Nights: There are always new challenges, I like working with everybody, and in a place where everybody has fun!

My day usually ends: Around midnight

Final thoughts of the day/comments: Thinking of the next day; what’s next at Arabian Nights and what else I have to do at home!

Stay tuned next week for a look at what our Vice President of Sales really does with his time! We’re interested to know too actually….
